Brain development is one of the most complex biological processes, requiring precise coordination of cellular interactions that ultimately shape cognition and behavior. At the ABCD Lab, we focus on astrocytes as central regulators of brain development and investigate how developmental glial mechanisms influence neural circuit formation throughout life.

Our mission is to build Developmental Glioscience, an emerging field that seeks to understand how astrocytes govern brain development and how disruption of these processes contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders.
