Our center (Center for Memory and Glioscience) has officially opened applications for HiBST 2026 (Highschool Camp for Brain Science Training), a two-week neuroscience research camp designed for high school students interested in becoming future brain scientists.

Held from July 27 to August 7, 2026 at IBS headquarters in Daejeon, the program offers hands-on experience in diverse areas of cutting-edge neuroscience research, including molecular biology, electrophysiology, optogenetics, animal behavior analysis, and brain disease research. Participants will also experience real research activities through seminars, journal clubs, lab meetings, and experimental training alongside active scientists. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to explore ongoing research topics ranging from deep learning-based behavioral analysis and neural circuit manipulation to astrocyte-targeted therapeutic approaches for brain disorders, while developing their own scientific ideas for final presentations.

We are especially excited that Koh Lab will also be participating in this year’s program and contributing to the training of future neuroscientists.

We warmly encourage students who are passionate about brain science to apply and look forward to meeting the next generation of researchers this summer.
