Celebrating the First Half of 2026 and Welcoming a New Beginning!

As we wrap up the first half of 2026 and step into an exciting new chapter, the ABCD Lab gathered for a summer evening together, a chance to look back, celebrate, and look ahead.

Over dinner, we reflected on how far we have come during the past several months and shared our goals and hopes for the second half of the year. Research is always full of unexpected turns, challenges, and discoveries, and evenings like this remind us that the journey becomes much more meaningful when we can share it with great people.

The evening also gave us a chance to celebrate Hayoung Kim's recent Nature Communications publication together. It was wonderful to share the moment as a team and celebrate another meaningful milestone for Hayoung and the lab.

And with a new season comes a new face !

We are very happy to welcome our new summer intern, Haeun Jeon, to the ABCD Lab! Bohyun Oh will be her mentor during her time with us, and we hope this summer brings Haeun plenty of opportunities to learn, explore, ask new questions, and experience the joys of research. Most of all, this gathering was a chance to cheer each other on.

We're proud of everything we've accomplished together in the first half of 2026, and even more excited for what lies ahead. May the second half bring us fresh energy, exciting ideas, meaningful discoveries, and perhaps a little extra luck when we need it. Here's to a great summer, new beginnings, and everything still ahead.
